Plans and AI credits

What each plan costs, why there are two Pro prices, and what an AI credit actually is — the AI is sold at cost, and here is the arithmetic.

The tracking part of Kaizendex is free forever. Collections, properties, entries, views, dashboards, the wiki, and sync across web, iOS, Android and desktop — none of that goes behind a wall, on any plan.

The AI is the paid part, because the AI is the part that costs real money every single time you use it. So that is the only thing the plans differ on — and we sell it at what it costs us.

The plans

PlanMonthlyYearlyAI
Pro$14.99 a month$119.99 a year ($10.00 a month, saving $59.89)4 AI credits a month
Pro — your own key$9.99 a month$69.99 a year ($5.83 a month, saving $49.89)Your own AI key
Lifetime$199.00 once, never renewsYour own AI key
Free$0.00, no cardA small monthly taste, about 10 messages

Every paid plan is the same software. Not one feature is gated between them:

  • The whole tracking framework — collections, properties, entries, views, dashboards, wiki
  • Unlimited entries and unlimited collections
  • Sync across web, iOS, Android and desktop
  • The AI agent, photo and voice logging, transcription
  • Up to 3 scheduled agents, once a day each
  • Health auto-sync (Fitbit, Google Health and friends)
  • AI image generation for icons and avatars
  • 10GB of media storage

The only question a plan answers is who pays the model bill: us, at cost, out of your credits — or the AI provider, directly, on your own key.

Why there are two Pro prices

Pro includes 4 AI credits a month. Pro — your own key includes none, because you bring your own.

The gap between the two prices is exactly the value of those credits. It is not a "premium tier" and there is no feature behind it. If you already have an AI key, the cheaper plan is the honest one for you, and it is on the same screen as the other one rather than hidden.

What an AI credit is

One credit is one US dollar of real model spend.

Every time the AI does something for you, the model provider charges us a real amount for that specific turn — a few tenths of a cent for a quick question, more for a long conversation that reads a lot of your data. We meter what each turn actually cost and take that from your balance.

That means:

  • We do not mark up tokens. Ever. Your credit balance is a dollar balance, spent at cost.
  • A credit is not a message. "About 400 messages" is an estimate from real usage, not an allowance — nothing in the app counts messages.
  • Cheap turns cost you almost nothing. A short question is a fraction of a cent, so the estimate is deliberately conservative.
  • Unused monthly credits roll over for up to three months.

The unit is money because the unit is money. If you inspect the meter, you find our cost — that is the point of showing it to you.

Bringing your own key

On the "your own key" plans you connect your own AI provider key, and the AI bills land on your account with them, at their prices. Nothing about the app changes: same agent, same photo logging, same scheduled agents.

You can still buy credit packs on a bring-your-own-key plan if you ever want to — the two are not exclusive.

Credit packs, if you want more

Top-up packs never expire, and you can buy them on any plan.

PackYou payModel spend it buysCard and top-up fees
10 credits$11.99$10.0019.9%
25 credits$27.99$25.0012.0%
50 credits$54.99$50.0010.0%

3 pack sizes, and every one of them is cost recovery rather than margin — card processing (2.9% + $0.30) and OpenRouter's 5.5% top-up fee. The fixed 30¢ is why the smallest pack carries the highest percentage.

Packs cost a little more than the model spend they carry, and that difference is disclosed rather than folded in: it is what card processing and the provider's top-up fee take out. It is cost recovery, not margin.

Auto-refill exists so nobody gets cut off mid-conversation. It is off by default, you set the hard monthly ceiling yourself, and it stops dead at that ceiling. We will never silently top up a running balance.

Running out never breaks the app. Tracking and sync keep working exactly as they did, and your monthly credits come back on the reset date.

What the free plan gives you

Free is the whole tracking app, on every device, with sync, forever — and no card.

What free does not give you is meaningful AI. You get a small monthly taste (roughly 10 agent messages), and when that runs out the tracking simply carries on. Nothing is deleted, nothing is locked, and you are never asked for a card.

What you are charged, spelled out

  • Subscribing charges your card today, at the price shown. There is no free trial right now.
  • Cancel in one click from your billing settings, straight into Stripe's own portal. No email, no retention maze, no phone call.
  • Cancelling means stop renewing, never cut me off now — you keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Prices are in US dollars, exclusive of the sales tax or VAT that Stripe calculates for your country at checkout. Stripe shows you the exact total before you confirm anything.
  • Your card is held by Stripe, never by us. Card numbers never touch our servers and we never see them.
  • The lifetime plan is a one-time payment and never renews.
  • Billing happens on the web only. The phone apps deliberately sell nothing at all.

What we will not do

  • No countdown timers, no fake urgency, no scarcity. The prices on the pricing page are the prices. The lifetime plan is uncapped and has no closing date.
  • No weekly plan. The weekly subscription is the signature of the app-store quiz scam, and it has the worst retention of any billing cadence. We do not offer one.
  • No prices hidden behind a quiz. They are published openly, before you make an account.
  • No charge you did not switch on. Auto-refill is off by default, with a ceiling you set.
  • No price rise on a plan you are already on. If we ever raise a price, you stay at the price you signed up at — and so does the credit allowance that came with it. Raising an allowance is a gift; cutting one is a betrayal.
