Copying something

One dialog, one list — everything that would land in your account, each row a tick box.

Hit Copy on any listing — on an agent the same button reads Add, because an agent joins your roster rather than being duplicated. If it brings other things with it, you get one dialog — Select what you want to copy — listing every one of them before anything is created.

If it brings nothing (a theme, a skill, a bare agent), there is nothing to decide and it copies on the click.

The one list

Everything the copy would bring is a row, grouped by kind — Collections, Views, Widgets, Automations, Agents, Skills, Themes. Each row is in one of four states, and says which under its name:

  • required — ticked and locked. A widget without the Collection it charts is a broken tile, so it is not offered as a choice. (The listing's own page spells out why each one is required, on its tabs.)
  • you already have this — will be reused — no tick box at all. It is matched to what you already track and reused, so you never end up with a second Mood beside the Mood you have been logging for a year.
  • included — ticked, and yours to untick. One view out of five, a skill without its agent, half a system.
  • optional — the look. A theme is always declinable; untick it and everything still works, it just arrives in your own theme.

The button says Copy selected (N), and N is what actually lands — something being reused is not in the count, because nothing about your account changes for it.

Overruling the reuse

Every matched Collection row has a small button on the right to flip the decision: Reuse the one I already have, or Make a separate new one instead. If you genuinely want a second Mood, say so there.

Examples

Templates carry a few made-up example rows so you can see what the thing looks like filled in. Copying them is off by default — tick the box if you want them, delete them whenever.

They are never anyone's real entries. See What becomes public.

Copying a system

A system is a bundle of listings. Copying one lists its members as ordinary rows in the same dialog, and what lands is the members — four Collections, a board, two rules, an agent. Nothing called a system is left in your account afterwards; there is no wrapper to manage later.

Reuse applies across the whole bundle: if two members both use Push-ups, you get one Push-ups, not two.

Pieces you left out

A piece you untick is simply not created, and the things that remain are adjusted for it — decline a widget and the board arrives without an empty tile where it would have been.

A piece whose author has since stopped sharing it on its own still comes with its parent. The row says so; there is just no separate page to visit any more.

Then it is yours

The copy appears instantly and opens. From that point it is an ordinary Collection, board, agent or skill — rename it, gut it, delete it.

You can copy the same thing more than once; each copy is independent, and later changes to the original never reach it.
